Prime Minister Ognian Gerdjikov will facilitate an expert meeting with the team of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food immediately after the parliamentary elections

Prime Minister Ognian Gerdjikov follows closely the developments in sector “Agriculture” and will facilitate an expert meeting between the team of PP GERB and the Ministry of Agriculture immediately after the parliamentary elections of 26 March. He expressed his readiness to do so in a letter to the Chairman of the party Boyko Borissov.
I address you, to assure you that the government and myself personally follow closely with particular attention the developments in sector “Agriculture”. I take the opportunity to follow up on the letter sent to me by Ms Taneva, Mr Grudev and Mr Dimitrov, in which they express concerns in relation to the payments from the schemes and measures for direct support of agricultural producers… I appreciate their concern for the development of Bulgarian agriculture in a peaceful environment and its capacity to take advantage of all opportunities created by our European membership,” points out Prime Minister Gerdjikov in the letter.
He reminds that, guided by his conviction that namely the development of the agricultural sector is a marker for the prosperity of the country, he has responded to all requests within the framework of the caretaker government’s term for a personal meeting with representatives of various agricultural producers. “I follow closely, attentively and intermittently the actions of the Ministry of Agriculture through the “Agriculture” Fund and the other sectoral programs in reaction to the request and problems, expressed during those meetings. I am unconditionally committed to guaranteeing the payments for agricultural producers, as well as to the implementation of all technical and procedural requirements for their realization,” notes Ognian Gerdjikov.
Highlighting that he pays heed to the concern, expressed in the letter addressed to him, the Prime Minister points out that he will facilitate a meeting to take place immediately after the early parliamentary elections.
The Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice, and presidents of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Supreme Administrative Court presented their positions on the judicial reform to ambassadors of EU member-states and the United States.
After his visit to Vietnam, on the way to Bulgaria, Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski paid a short visit to the city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan. There, the Prime Minister met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov. Mr. Oresharski and Mr. Azimov discussed bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan , with a an emphasis on economic issues. The two discussed the upcoming meeting of the Joint Committee of the intergovernmental Commission and political consultations in June this year. Discussed was also the possibility the Bulgarian Prime Minister to visit Uzbekistan before the end of the year.
