KRASEN KRALEV - Minister of Youth and Sports

Krasen Kralev was born on 2 January 1967 in the city of Varna.

He is a graduate of the First Language School and the Medical University in Varna. He specialised in Political Campaign Management at the University of South Carolina, US in 1990. He is one of the founders of the Federation of Independent Student Associations in 1990. Mr. Kralev is also a co-founder of the Bulgarian Association for Fair Elections. He was consultant with the US National Democratic Institute during the pre-election missions in Albania, Republic of South Africa, Yemen, Ukraine, Yugoslavia.

Founder and Deputy Chairman of “Novoto Vreme” political party until 2012. Member of the 43rd and 44th National Assembly elected as a representative of Political Party GERB from the 3rd Multi-mandate electoral region – Varna. He is a proven expert in the field of public communications, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MAG Communications – a group of integrated marketing communication agencies. Owner of two big internet media companies – Alternative Media Group EOOD, including bulgaria.utre.bg and 10 regional news websites, and Web Media Group JSC – a holder of some of the most popular Bulgarian internet brands – News.bg, Topsport.bg, Money.bg, Lifestyle.bg.

Mr. Krasen Kralev is a former national track and field athlete and 20 000m record holder of Bulgaria (junior men category). Bronze medalist from the Balkan Cross in 1986 and 1987. President of the “Cherno More” Football Club from 1998 to 2001, and from 2003 to 2007. Since 2010 he is Chairman of the Futsal Commission at the Bulgarian Football Union. In 2014 he is elected as Chairman of “Cherno More” Sports Clubs Association.

Minister of Youth and Sports in the second cabinet of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov from 7 November 2014 to  27 January 2017. Elected Minister of Youth and Sports on May 4, 2017 by the 44 rd National Assembly.
