Prime Minister Boyko Borissov was awarded the Medal of Recognition - the highest award granted by the Prime Minister of Albania. The merit was awarded to Borissov by Edi Rama on account of his work in contribution to the European integration of the Western Balkan countries.
"We are acknowledging that during these six months you have been actively working for the European perspective for all Balkan countries," Prime Minister Edi Rama said. He expressed hope that good cooperation and friendship between the two countries will continue to unfold.
"We are one big European family. The Balkans are part of it, so we are making efforts, but the work of your political elite is extremely important," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said. According to him, the faster the Balkan countries develope and become connected through digital and transport infrastructure, the faster the region will forget about wars.
