PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV MET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UK GOVERNMENT

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with representatives of the UK government. These conversations of the Bulgarian Prime Minister took place after his participation at the Investment Forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, dedicated to the Western Balkans.

 

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov presented to Minister of Finance Phillip Hammond the infrastructure projects for the Western Balkan region. He stressed that while Britain is leaving the European Union, it continues to be part of a Europe whose security depends on the security and prosperity of every region of the continent. Borissov paid special attention to the construction of trans-European transport corridors, as well as digital and energy infrastructure development projects that will improve connectivity in Europe, would lead to more investment and create jobs in the Western Balkan countries. The UK Minister of Finance congratulated the Bulgarian Prime Minister for the priorities set by the Bulgarian Presidency and its success in focusing international attention on them.

 

In his conversation with the Secretary of State for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Davies, the Bulgarian Prime Minister noted that despite the Brexit process, Europe must remain united and strong. The two were unanimous that Bulgaria and the UK will maintain their good partnership in politics, the economy, tourism and the security filed.
